La Raíz Scholarship & Community Support Fund
La Raíz will distribute amounts of $250 as funds are available. Anyone is welcome to apply. Additional consideration may be given to: BIPOC women & girls, high school students, first generation college students, mothers who are the only provider in their home. Need and intended use will be considered. There must be a minimum of 20 applications per cycle for an award to be disbursed. Application is in English and Spanish.

July 2022 - Francely Flores (Award amount: $250)
"Francely Flores was born in Houston, Texas (Occupied Karankawa Land) and raised in the Bronx, New York (Occupied Lenape Land). She is an independent photo and video journalist who focuses on documenting the stories of Indigenous peoples; specifically immigrants, and Bronx residents. She is also a first-generation college student at Baruch College." ¡Congratulations, Francely Flores!
February 2022 - Inaugural recipient: Gabriel Gutierrez (Award amount: $250)
"Gabriel Gutierrez has worked hard to be where he is. Not only has he studied in a political science internship that opened his eyes to racial injustice, but he hopes to continue his education at a 4-year university to be able to make a big impact in his communities in the future." ¡Congratulations, Gabriel Gutierrez!
